IU Informatics - Luddy Hall

This project constructed a new 125,000 SF facility for the School of Informatics and Computing on the IU Bloomington Campus.  The project brought together many facets of the school – including programs in Computer Science, Informatics and Library Sciences – in a collaborative environment.  Spaces will include an Innovation Center, a series of team work rooms, meeting spaces, classrooms, faculty offices and a large lecture hall.

This project features a complex exterior wall system and design. The walls feature a pleated sawtooth layout with direction changes in 1’8” long sawtooth segments.  The exterior wall panels are limestone clad and were fabricated in China as the exterior walls were framed. GLI framing crews used a combination of manual layout along with Hilti’s laser layout to ensure walls are built in the correct locations due to a zero tolerance.
